Sherleen Pang is an alumna of the Environmental Design MSc at the UCL Institute for Environmental Design and Engineering, The Bartlett.
She manages a team at environmental consultancy XCO2, which collaborates with architects and developers to help them be more sustainable.
Here, she discusses how Covid-19 has caused the industry to rethink buildings to be ‘pandemic proof’, with measures which could be applied retrospectively or incorporated into new builds.
“We are looking at how people interact with each other in the building and if there is any scope to design contactless interaction,” she says. “There are a lot of opportunities for fresh thinking.”
